Blake focuses his legal practice in the areas of family law, criminal defense and commercial litigation. Using grit and compassion, he strives to aggressively advocate for his clients and obtain favorable results, both inside and outside of the courtroom. Blake believes in reasonable, commonsense resolutions where possible to effectively meet his clients needs. However, his approach is foremost grounded in the ideal of zealous advocacy for his client’s interests.
During his time with SWSR Law, Blake has advised and assisted clients in a wide range of areas including: civil protective orders; criminal protective order violations; prenuptial agreements; divorce litigation: ranging from uncontested divorces, mediated and negotiated settlements, and evidentiary hearings at trial; child custody and visitation; criminal defense; negotiating buyouts of partners exiting business relationships; LLC formation; and other familial, criminal, and business matters.
Blake received his J.D. locally from Antonin Scalia Law School, George Mason University located in Arlington, Virginia where he served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Law, Economics & Policy. He is also an inaugural inductee of the Mason Sports Law Hall of Fame. Blake earned his B.A. from Hampden-Sydney College located in Farmville, Virginia where he was active in his school and community, being inducted into the fraternal honor societies of Phi Betta Kappa and Omicron Delta Kappa.
Blake originally hails from the Tidewater area of Virginia. It was there that he found his love for fishing on riverbanks and competitive sports such as baseball and golf. Since his move to the northern part of the Commonwealth, Blake has taken up the hobbies of smoking meats in his BBQ smoker and softball to remain outdoors as much as possible.
